Red Sphere Traps are coated with TangleTrap and used to trap female apple maggot flies before they deposit their eggs. The flies are tricked into thinking the traps are apples and once they land, they're stuck. In a typical home orchard hang 1-2 traps per 100 apples in the upper third of the tree canopy. For best results traps should be in place after trees blossom but before petal fall. Traps are sold singly or in case of 25. TangleTrap is purchased separately.

Brushable
As its name implies, this formulation can be applied using a paint
brush. It contains odorless mineral spirits which reduces the viscosity of the material.
Once applied, the material has the same trapping power as the paste. Brushable formula is
well suited to contoured trap surfaces. 8 oz. can has a convenient built-in brush.

TangleFootTangleFoot is applied around the trunk of a tree. It's an extremely sticky, caramel colored paste made from natural gum resins, castor oil and wax. It's effective against crawling insects who must reach the tree tops to feed, mate or deposit eggs. These include cankerworms, gypsy moth caterpillars, ants, and some weevils. Japanese Beetle Trap Kit
There are many beetle
traps available. We chose to offer this one because it's designed to last for many seasons
instead of being a "throwaway" trap. Both the top and bottom of the trap are
made of durable plastic and can be emptied over and over. Another superior feature is the
double action lure which will usually last a full season and contains both a highly
efficient aromatic lure and a potent pheromone lure. The aromatic floral lure attracts
both males and females, while the pheromone lure attracts only the males. This combination
of lures has been proven to catch up to 5 times as many beetles as the floral lure alone!
